Panama isn't just about the Canal. The country of Panama is
a fabulous vacation spot. You'll find some of Central
America's finest deep sea fishing, as well as the most
beautiful reefs around which to snorkel. Look for vacation
packages that match your interests. It's a great place full
of beautiful scenery and fascinating wildlife. Panama is a
bird watcher's paradise, offering an amazing variety of
brightly colored birds.

Panama is home to seven indigenous peoples. Each has its own
heritage and culture. These loyal inhabitants proudly
celebrate their Spanish roots. No matter when you go, you're
sure to find festivals, often spontaneous, and loads of fun.

If you are an adventurer, there are lots of those in Panama
too. You can snorkel in the Caribbean Sea, swim in the
Pacific Ocean, ride rapids, and see all sorts of wildlife in
the nature parks. You will want to keep coming back for
more; there is so much to do. Some areas should be
experienced only with a professional guide. One of the best
is Dari~n National Park, which is wild and uninhabited.
There are a number of tour guide companies to pick from in
setting up your visit to this unique and wild park.

The ideal time for visiting Panama is during the dry season.
This would be from mid-December to mid-April. When it's the
rainy season, the humidity is too much for most people to
handle. Also the rain strikes in downpours that are short
and sudden, and liable to ruin your outdoor adventure. You
can reach some of the wilder areas only when it's the dry
season. There is one of the world's biggest parties in
Panama City in the carnival season. To attend, plan your
holiday around Ash Wednesday.

Other attractions for you in Panama are the Panama Canal,
the Summit Botanical Gardens and Zoo, and the Parque
Nacional Metropolitana. You'll love Panama on your first
visit and want to hurry back!
