Exploring Dallas

Dallas is the perfect vacation get-away, whether it's just
for the weekend or for an extended vacation. Texas is
amazing all on its own, but tourist flock to Dallas. Dallas
sits on the Trinity River with its many creeks and small
tributaries that branch off throughout the city. The many
rivers, creeks and streams offer a number of lovely
tree-lined walks and parks. You'll enjoy strolls among the
oak, cottonwood and pecan trees.

Dallas is extremely important in the financial and business
area of the southwest United States. You~ll find that the
city is always busy with one convention or another and
claims to be the busiest convention city in North America.
If you are planning to stay overnight in Dallas you will
have a multitude of fine hotels to choose from to fit your
budget, whether you are looking for budget accommodation or
want a luxury suite. If you want to be a part of the
hustle and bustle of Dallas you can find a hotel in the
downtown convention center area. If you want a quieter
place to stay you can consider a hotel in the suburbs or
out near the airport.

Although Dallas is the center of Texas commerce, it's not
lacking in cultural events. The city boasts a number of
excellent museums and art galleries. One of the most popular
museums is the African American Museum located near Fair
Park. The museum houses an intriguing and varied exhibits
and displays, with a huge collection of African folk art as
well as contemporary art. The museum offers a unique
perspective and an increased understanding of African
American heritage and culture.

Another museum that will keep you occupied if are visiting
Dallas with your children is the Dallas Children~s Museum.
In this museum you and your children will have a hands-on
experience as you play in the many life-like scenarios that
include a farm, a hospital, a grocery store, and a
firehouse. After you~re done playing you can introduce
your children to a few of the cultural displays before
heading back out into the busy city of Dallas.

While you are in Dallas you will want to do some shopping.
If clothes are your thing you will find some wonderful
stores that offer secondhand designer clothes from such big
names as Armani, Donna Karan, and Emanual. If you are a
sports enthusiast you will find that Dallas is the place
for you. The many challenging golf courses will be a great
place to spend a sunny day before enjoying a meal in one of
Dallas~s many fine restaurants.

Visit Dallas any time of year and you'll keep busy. The
blend of big city and southwestern charm are a big draw, and
you'll want to come back for more.
