The "Mile High City" is full of excitement and fun, enough
to give anyoe a great vacation or a well deserved getaway.
There is plenty to do in Denver, no matter the time of
year. There is fine dining, high-class entertainment, and
many museums. Additionally, Denver offers professional
sports teams and a very good nightlife, as well as being a
stop on several major concert tours a year. When you visit
Denver, you will find that there is plenty to do.
Sports teams. There are amateur sports teams in Denver, but
the real excitement comes from watching professional
sports. The Colorado Avalanche is the hockey team, and few
people in Denver can forget the glory days of the football
Denver Broncos. The Nuggets make their home in Denver, and
it is always a great place to get reasonably priced tickets
to see big-name visiting teams. Denver even has a
professional lacrosse team.
Cultural arts. There are many heritage centers and museums
in Denver, including the Black American West Museum and
Heritage Center and Buffalo Bill's Museum and Grave. Denver
also sports a history museum, a children's museum, and a
railroad museum. Take a quick trip outside the city to
experience Cherokee Ranch and Castle. The Arvada Center for
the Arts and Humanities includes a center that offers an
array of experiences, including theater, dance, gallery,
and hands-on learning.
Denver is well-known for its petite but popular cultural
events like symphony show, Colorado ballet company's
performance, the children's chorale and the special shows at
Arvada center. The Colorado ballet company features the
holiday favorite 'The Nutcracker Suite', which is worth
watching if you like theatre and ballet.
Kids can have their day out at the Denver Zoo and the
Downtown Aquarium. Both these places feature some of the
most exotic animal species that fascinate young and the old
alike. You can spot species not just from around the region
but also from all across the globe.
Denver offers a great deal of outdoor activities in
beautiful and rugged settings. You can go for hot air
balloon rides, horseback riding, Jeep tours, and rafting
trips. Or you can take hiking and rock climbing tours
besides biking tours in Denver.
If you don't want adventure and just wish to laze out in a
bright garden or park on a laid back picnic or lunch, you
have some wonderful options. The Denver parks and gardens
like Butterfly pavilion, inset center, cave of winds and
Denver botanical gardens are a great option for a relaxed
picnic.
Festivals. Check the time of year for festivals. Denver is
a city that has quite a few festivals throughout the year,
ensuring fun activities for singles, couples, and families.
Some of these are the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, the
Cinco de Mayo, Colorado Renaissance Festival, and the
Colorado Music Festival.
